Vermont State Steinholding Championship

We're very excited to be bringing Masskrugstemmen to Vermont and partnering with von Trapp Brewing Company and Bierhall to bring you the Vermont State Steinholding Championship Tournament!

We are very excited to announce our continued partnership with von Trapp Brewing Company to bring more Steinholding to Vermont and we're going big with a Steinholding tournament series that spans the Green Mountain State and culminates with the State Championship Finals on Saturday October 28th, 2023 at 3:00pm at the von Trapp Brewing Bierhall in Stowe, VT! The von Trapp lagers will be flowing, and the winner of the men's and women's competition finals will be crowned the 2023 Vermont State Steinholding Champions! The State Champions will also receive a voucher for a one-night stay in the world-class accommodations of the beautiful Trapp Family Lodge, including breakfast and a 3-course dinner for two at the von Trapp Bierhall, a prize valued at over $500!

There are a limited number of spots available for the finals and you'll need to compete at one of our Qualifying Venue partner locations (listed below) to qualify for the finals and get your shot at the big prizes.

How do I qualify for the Finals? Great question! There are two ways:

1. We're partnering with breweries, bars, and festivals across Vermont to host preliminary qualifying rounds at these venues. The men's and women's winner from each registered Qualifying Venue will be invited to represent their venue at von Trapp Brewing for the State Championship Finals. The different venues are listed below along with the dates and times for each competition. If your favorite Vermont venue isn't hosting a competition, tell them to get registered so you can join the fun!

OR

2. You can compete at von Trapp's Oktoberfest in one of their preliminary round competitions! Competitors who post the best times during the Oktoberfest, September 16th, 2023, times TBD will qualify to move on to compete in the State Championship Finals.

What are the rules?

U.S. Steinholding Association Official Steinholding Rules will be used. There will be a team of official USSA judges at the finals, so study up on the rules and spend some time training to make sure your form is clean, or you won't last long in the Championship Round!

Alright, I'm in. Where can I compete?!

Check out the initial competition map and venue list below. Don't see your favorite venue listed? Reach out to them and tell them that you DEMAND STEINHOLDING and they need to sign up! We'll be announcing more locations throughout the summer and fall so check back and follow us on FB and IG for updates. Remember- these venues will have limited spaces available for their qualifying rounds, so show up early and register in advance with the venue if you can!
